a walk by faith
I'm sitting alongside the edge of the beach. My legs are huddled together while I'm soothed by the tranquil and consistent sound of the gentle water flowing against the rigid black boulders. The sun rays lightly graze my skin and the coolness of the shade comes and goes as the clouds stroll in the sky.
I close my eyes for a few moments and allow Mother Nature to take her course. On the beach, her soft, beige-coloured, skin is decorated by pebbles and seashells across the shallow ends of the turquoise blue Atlantic water. This is the closest feeling to peace I had ever felt in a year. What better way to enter 2021 than right here at Namibia's coast.

This was the first year I had been dead asleep in my bed by 10 PM on New Year's Eve and I am not one bit upset. If anything, being at the coast and taking a break from business has made me realise how fatigue I was last year. My expectations for anything are at an all-time low, but we keep the faith, right?
Twenty-twenty was not the best year for many people. The virus put many things around the world at a standstill.

I went into 2020 with a burning desire to duck and dodge any losses – full throttle. Although I can confidently list some of my biggest achievements last year, it wouldn’t be a reflection without looking at where there might be room for personal improvement considering there were challenges.
If you've made it into the new year, still alive and in good health, this alone is something to be entirely grateful for and proud of. If we haven't lost friends, family, acquaintances, or co-workers, we all know someone who has and for that reason, I view people and humanity much differently today than before.
In 2020 we had a chance to learn and navigate how to best go on with our lives during the pandemic. Now might be the best time to re-focus our intentions on some of the things we put on hold that are still, realistically, attainable. Although it's not over just yet, I do believe one form of strength is waking up every day and expressing gratitude because tomorrow is never promised.
